Description
Essential oils affect the respiratory system probably more than any other system in the body. We literally have an arsenal of good essential oils that can benefit breathing and support the respiratory system. Added to this is the research that shows essential oils to be beneficial as anti-inflammatory, expectorant, anti-bacterial, antiviral, antifungal, decongesting, antispasmodic, mucolytic, and antitussive. In this book I examine the anatomy and physiology of the respiratory system, then discuss the various pathologies and the essential oils that can aid and support the entire system. The most important essential oils for the respiratory tract are examined. Not surprising, the 1,8 cineole compound–the respiratory tract’s best friend shows up in almost all of them.
