Earlier this month, we celebrated Independence Day, commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Our founding fathers drew a line in the sand, declaring that the thirteen colonies were no longer under the control of the British monarchy, but were free and independent.

Our paradigms can be a lot like King George III. They try to keep us in check by rising up and whispering that we are not good enough, not smart enough, not pretty enough, young enough, old enough, etc., to accomplish our goals or have a vision of a life we would love to live.

Kirsten Welles, Master Coach at the Brave Thinking Institute, says it’s good news when our paradigms try to dissuade us from our path because it means we are stepping out of our comfort zone and onto our green-growing edge.

Do you have paradigms trying to hold you back from your dreams? Would you like to state your Declaration of Independence? Here is a practice taught at Dream Builder Live. A friend of Mary Morrissey created it.

The next time one of your limiting paradigms tries to get your attention, stop what you are doing, stamp your foot, and say, “Excuse me, I interrupt this program with an important message from my soul. I am a child of God (substitute whatever phrase you are comfortable with) and deserve to live a life I love!” Having been through this exercise multiple times, it is a powerful and bold move.

Would you like help declaring your independence from your limiting paradigms? I invite you to go to the homepage and, under the heading CONTACT, select, schedule a session with Rich. Pick a time a date convenient for you. It will put you on my calendar for a FREE discovery session to discuss your vision and how to declare your independence from your limiting paradigms.
