I live in Florida—we have hurricanes. I used to live in Colorado—we had blizzards in the winter and fires in the summer. On the East Coast—storms and hurricanes and floods. Out West—it’s the summer fires and heat waves and more recently dust storms and tornados. Down South—you have got hurricanes, tornados and lots of heat and humidity. And in the middle of the country—well, you have a taste of everything but especially tornados and floods.

No matter where you live, you have weather to contend with. If I were to put together an emergency kit to have for those times when I only have moments to think what to take with me if I had to evacuate, it would be these:

Number 1 – Thieves™ Essential Oil Blend. I’m not thinking of what I need to clean—I’m thinking of how to protect myself and support my immune system. Just put a few drops on the soles of the feet every day.

Stress Away™ Essential Oil Blend. Yes, just look at the name on this wonderful blend and you will know what to do with it.

Purification™ Essential Oil Blend. For a breath of fresh air, use this oil to clear away smoke and other noxious odors. Plus it helps keep away those nasty little bugs.

Valor™ Essential Oil Blend. There’s lots that this blend can do for you—decrease stress, keep you in balance, support your whole being. Just don’t leave home without it.

Peace & Calming™ Essential Oil Blend. Just as its name indicates, this oil is very handy to help calm pets and children alike. You might need it as well.

Deep Relief™ Essential Oil Roll-On. This roll-on is a must especially if you have tight muscles or aches and pains. It’s in a handy roll-on so you don’t have to worry about using too much or too little oil to help you.

Lavender Essential Oil. Sleep may be difficult during stressful times, so let this oil help you. Plus its great on the skin and supportive when you deal with cuts, scrapes and bruises.

Lemon Essential Oil. If nothing else—the fragrance of lemon is uplifting. You can put a drop of lemon in your water to purify it, or put a few drops on the soles of your feet to help when the pressure of things gets to be too much. And if you have a diffuser available it helps clean up the air. If not, just put a few drops on a tissue and hold to your nose. This is a phototoxic oil so don’t apply it to your skin and go out into the sun.

Peppermint Essential Oil. This is my go-to oil for just about everything—it supports the respiratory tract, digestive system, and musculoskeletal system. Just be careful not to get this one in your eyes.

Copaiba Essential Oil. High in compounds known to help decrease inflammation, I carry this oil with me at all times.

Tea Tree Essential Oil. What a wonderful supportive oil for the skin. You never know when you might need this one so have it in your emergency kit.

There you have it—everything you need in a first aide emergency preparedness kit. You might want to put together your kit in a bag and mark it so in a flash when you have to evacuate and move to a safer location, you don’t have to go looking for your oils. Now if you don’t have these oils because you aren’t a member in Young Living, contact me and I will help you get prepared because we all know that climate change is not making life simple anymore.
