“A life spent in making mistakes is not only more honorable, but more useful than a life spent doing nothing.”

                                                George Bernard Shaw

What if you attempted something and it didn’t go the way you planned, or you didn’t get the results you desired and instead of looking at those results as a failure you looked at them as feedback. And what if that feedback was your higher authority/power signaling that the path you were on wasn’t the right one for you? Or, the dream you had for your future wasn’t big enough or worth enough of you. What if instead feeling down because of those undesired results, you actually felt good?

You see, failure does not have to be a stumbling block. It can actually be a stepping-stone. Having a failure to redefine can actually be a gift, or a stepping-stone on the path to becoming a bigger, better version of yourself. As humans we are going to make mistakes during our lifetimes. And, as humans, we get to choose how we respond to those mistakes. We can choose to either let them define us as losers, or, we can choose to learn from them and accept them as a sign that we are in the game, stepping up to the plate and taking our swings. Did you know that the year Babe Ruth hit the most home runs, he recorded the highest number of strike outs of any time in his career. He was in there, taking his swings. Did you know that it took Thomas Edison 10,000 attempts to create the system of illumination that we use to light our homes today. When asked how he persevered when faced with so many failures, he responded that he hadn’t had a single failure, it was all feedback. Failure is a gift, one that we all should embrace and learn from.

So, from now on, anytime something goes wrong, or doesn’t turn out the way you wanted it to, and your first thought is that you failed, remember it is only a failure if you choose it to be. You have the power within you to just as easily look at it as feedback and learn from it.
