It’s the middle of March and time to recognize that spring is on its way soon so its time to think about spring-cleaning and I don’t just mean your house. What about your interior home—your body—it may be time to do a little cleansing. Young Living has great products to help us with digestive, liver and gut cleansing. There’s no time better than a change of season when the body is stressed already from change. You see as we age, there is a greater buildup of chemical contamination throughout the body. As these toxins accumulate, we are more likely to suffer from poor health and degenerative diseases. This is why cleansing is so important. When we purge out heavy metal contamination, undigested foods, and internal pollution, it relieves stress on our organs and tissues. Our immune function is enhanced and stress on the liver is reduced.
We unfortunately live in a toxic world where our food, water, cosmetics, and even the air we breathe are laden with chemicals. There are bacteria, parasites, industrial wastes, herbicides, pesticides, additives, and heavy metals to contend with. Our bodies react from these assaults with inflammation and as we have learned, inflammation is at the root cause of all disease. By cleansing, we give our bodies the strength to fight off diseases and rid it of an overload of toxins, mucous, and parasites that may have accumulated over years.
Where do we begin? A liver cleanse is vital to maintaining optimal health but it takes upwards of 1-2 years to completely cleanse the liver. Gary Young always said that to cleanse a liver, you first must cleanse the gut. An ideal cleansing program requires a high consumption of water—not tap water that is chlorinated—distilled or purified water. Essential oils have a remarkable ability to penetrate cell membranes, break up undigested food, and digest toxins. They can be an important part of your cleansing regime.
You know your body the best. Choose a program that you can stick with. If you have underlying health issues already, best to consult with your physician before beginning a cleansing program. Fasting has long been a tradition among many cultures and can safely lead to a better sense of health. As the body begins to cleanse itself of parasites and putrefying toxins, a person may experience a sudden surge in energy and well-being. A great fast that I have done many times is the Stanley Burroughs Lemonade diet called the Master Cleanse. This is important and took me several times before I learned it—if you feel that you need or want to eat—then eat! Add only foods that are compatible with your cleansing program like salads, vegetables, fruit, Power Meal, and Pure Protein. Take different enzymes at various times for their benefits—Allerzyme, Detoxzyme, Essentialzyme. Have a positive mental attitude—that’s very important.
There are other liquid cleansing recipes as well—the Vital Life Juice Recipe, and the Grapefruit Juice Recipe to name but two. And then there is the Colon Cleanse with ComforTone, ICP, and Essentialzyme. What is right for you? I suggest you consult the Essential Oils Desk Reference and if you are looking at the Sixth edition, it is Chapter 17 beginning on page 425.
Happy Cleansing and as ever, if you want to consult with me just email, message or call me at 720-201-9377.
